Replace a kit component

Hi,

We are on Nav5.0 using kitting functionality with item tracking.

Our scenario is: A kit is shipped with components (comp1-serial11, comp2-serial21, comp3-serial31). One of the components is damaged so, we want to replace the comp2-serial21 with comp2-serial22. Component is same just the serial number is different. Is there any way to replace the kit component serial number without dissembling the kit?

    Our kit generally contains 27 components and it is really a pain- time consuming process to disassemble the entire kit and then reassemble it back jut to replace one serial number. Any workaround that I might be missing?
