Application Server Problem

KappeKappe Member Posts: 64
Hello

Today I installed my first Application Server.
But he dosn't starts. I searched the Forum, but found no satisfactorily answer.

The message in the windows event log is the following:

The ... database on the ... server cannot be opened by this version of Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision. The database has been converted by a newer program version.

You must upgrade Microsoft business solutions-Navision to the latest version in order to open the database.

In the SQL-Server Enterprise Manager i look for the entry of the database version. It's the 3.70A. The same Version as the Client.

I installed the Application Server from the 3.7 CD. Is there an newer version or an update of the Application Server available?

Or is it a problem of the installation order?

It could be that you have world wide version of NAS and the db is a German version.

Sorry after reading your post again. Yes there is another nas version for 3.7a. which u need to download.

    Hello ara3n

    Thank you for your answer.
But where can I find this newer Version?
I searched in MSDN and the Partner Source.

You need to install your NAS from the same product CD that was used to install the other navision components.

    Hello DenSter

    I have a Navision 3.7 CD and an Navision 3.7 SP3 CD.
I installed the NAS from the 3.7 CD, because on the SP3 CD I found no NAS.
Shall I copy some files from the SP3 CD to the NAS directory?

Don't think that will help, but you can try. (expecially the DLLs)

I think he's going to check the "build"-version. Should be the same as the client's.

Well the error that you are having is because of a version conflict. You need to get a product cd with everything on it, and only use that one cd to install your Navision components.

That is correct. Either partner source or your solution center. You can install it from one product cd and then apply a hotfix or a service pack, but once you start applying the service pack, you need to apply that to everything you install.
