                    Hi all
I am working on a rtc report for a client (this is the first ever report I am working on).
In Page Header, there is a textbox which has the following value =Code.GetData(4,3) which displays the date as i.e January 18,2012. I need to format it so the date is displayed as 01/18/2012.
I change the vendor & Bank "Check Date format as" MM DD YYY and "Check Date seperator" as / . It still displays the Date as January 18,2012.
I tried using the following code in the value field =FORMAT(FIELDS!CheckDateText.Value,"MM/DD/YYY"), but the system throws me an error message saying, header and footer cannot have value expression.
Any ideas how I can fix this.

try to make following change in Classic
 FORMAT("Posting Date",0,'<Closing><Day,2>/<Month,2>/<Year4>')
 or
 In the report (rdlc) ,
Right Click in the Field, select properties,
Select the Tab Format, and use the format code you need.
 d Short date
 D Long date
 t Short time
 T Long time
 f Full date/time (short time)
 F Full date/time (long time)
 g General date/time (short time)
 G General date/time (long time)Now or Never0

How did you know that is where the change had to be made??
I want to get better at making RTC reports. Is there any books you might recommend that I go through to get a better understanding of rdlc. I have gone through few manuals, but none of them go in details regarding RDLC reports.0

Nice. Using d in format did the trick.
Kind of strange a date from NAV is transformed into a datetime format in Report Builder.
