Hi All,
I tried to run a page from NAV 2013 and getting the following error
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development Environment
There are no NAV Server instances available for this database. You must ensure that a NAV Server instance is running and is configured to use the database before you perform this activity.
OK
I checked the server Instance from File->Database->Information and found blank there(Please refer SCREENSHOT).
How to make any instance available here. Please suggest. :?:
Thanks,
Anand

You can enter Server Instances in Tools-->Options-->Server Instance0
-
Hi Mohana,
I added the server instance from tools- options and still getting the same error while running any page.

Anand0 -
Can you reopen Tools-->Options and check whether server instance is existing or not.
Dont forget to press Ok after entering Server Instance (dont press escape)0 -
mohana, i entered server instance there (MSSQLSERVER) and pressed ok.
Please refer to scrennshot i have just reopened.0 -
1) Server instance must be running and connected to the database
2) On the field, whcih is empty, you can use the assit button to select the service you want to use to run the object. It means, the value could be entered by picking up the correct instance from the list.0 -
It should be your complete server address likelocalhost:7046/DynamicsNAV700
-
Hi mohana,
I used the following format to enter into server instance as
localhost:7046/DynamicsNAV70, but again it is not working.
Secondly,
To view/modify the server instance we need to view/modify at following
1. Tools-option-Server Instance(We can modify here)
2. File-Database-Information(we can not modify any instance here instead we can choose from a drop down list ,as Kine suggested).
i am attaching here both the screenshots. Please go through it and suggest the needful.
Please note that my RTC is running well separately but when i tried to run any page, following error appears:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Development Environment

OK
tone of thanks to you both ..

Where is your database located?
In your machine or server?
If in server, you need to replace localhost with server name..0 -
database is located at the same machine...so localhost is right.

Is your service running?
Check Database name in Config file0 -
Mohana,
Services are running fine and database name is correct in config file.
Please find screenshots for more clarification.
thanks, Anand0 -
:-) From config: DB=TPS_DB
From screenshot of devenv: DB="Demo Database NAV (7-0)
Am I missing something? 8)0 -
Kamil, The config setting is according to the TPS_DB which i used in development environment.
In fact, in the previous screenshots i added demo environment which is not the correct one. #-o You can find the right screenshot now.
thanks,Anand0 -
And could you add correct screenshot of the DB Info dialog with the instance list form you get when you lookup the instance in it?0
-
Hi all,
This problem is resolved now.In fact i should did these steps earlier.
I delete the config file, pick the new one of demo database from another system and reset it according to my TPS_DB. I paste it at required location and restart the service.
And Finally,it is resolved.
Thank you very much Kamil and Mohana for your responses.
regards,Anand0 -
I ran into this problem too and wanted to add how I fixed it:
1.) Add the full instance name under Tools -> options e.g. localhost:7046/DynamicsNAV70
2.) Restart the NAV service
3.) Close and re-open the development environment. Works! :thumbsup:0
