Subject: NAV 2013 error - The license information on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Database Server is invalid
Hi NAV experts,
I have installed NAV 2013 and all components. There are many errors & warnings I've found, but I can address where to fix the problem. But, this one, I can not. I'm getting a warning:
Microsoft Dynamics NAV
The license information on the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Database Server is invalid.
It happens both in RTC and Web browser. This is the screen capture: (or in the attachment)
Installation information:
Windows 7 Ultimate. SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2 Express. Browser: Chrome, but it's the same anyway in IE9.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013, version 7.00.33781
Anyone has ever successfully installed NAV 2013 ever got this message? I'm only installing demo database, using Cronus license.
Thank you.

Yes, You have to update your license Under Voice of PartnerSource to use NAV2013..
You can upload Cronus License from Dynamics.NAV70.IN.1184336.DVD\RoleTailoredClient\program files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\RoleTailored Client and try0 -
thanx for your response Mohana. Do you mean opening NAV 2013 Development Environment, then upload the license file from folder: (your path)\SQLDemoDatabase\CommonAppData\Microsoft\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\Database\Cronus.flf - is this what you mean?
I did, but still fail.
I guess, it's something like putting fin.flf to certain folder, but I can't find what folder it is.0 -
The folder is from your DVDDynamics.NAV70.IN.1184336.DVD\RoleTailoredClient\program files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\70\RoleTailored Client and try0

i know the source file of Cronus.flf - it's in the path we wrote above. what i think is, it's not enough just by uploading it using 2013 Dev. Env.
I guess, the file Cronus.flf (from source folder above) need to be pasted to another folder in C:\...
I just not sure what destination folder.0 -
ah...! you're right! nothing about copying flf.
I missed the step on restarting NAV Server service.
After I restarted ... I can log in to RTC.
Here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 4(v=nav.70).aspx
3. Upload the new license.
a. On the Tools menu, choose License Information.
b. In the License Information window, choose Upload.
c. In the Upload License File dialog box, browse to and open the license file.
You should see the following message:
The Server license was successfully uploaded.
4. Restart the development environment to activate the license.
5. Restart all Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server instances on the computer to activate the license for other clients. For more information, see Managing Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Instances.0 -
When I upload the new license the 2013 version runs fine, but my existing 2009 R2 RTC refuses to run. It says that the license does not permit
Microsoft Dynamics NAV
Your program license does not permit you to run Microsoft Dynamics NAV Classic for Microsoft SQL Server.
OK
Is there a way to keep both the versions running?

In Database Alter check Save License in Database and Upload again licenses and try..0

I'm having this problem too, then I've done what it has been posted here (In Database Alter check Save License with the right licence).
Now after that is running properly in the R2 Classic and in the 2013 Development enviroment. But in one of the RTC is breaking with the error of the licence. I've stopped both services and I've restarted the computer but ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) .
Do you know what is wrong???0
