Hie,
I have the following problem.
I 'am connected to a Windows Server 2008 R2 named SERVER A. Is domain controler.
I have a second Server (more powerful) ==> SERVER B on wich SQLSERVER 2008 Standard and my Database DYNAMICS NAV 5.01 SP1 are installed.
I don't open my Database, don't show the SQL SERVER;
Is it a Network problem or rigths ?
thanks for your help!

Have you tried just typing in the server's name? Just because the server doesn't show in the list, doesn't mean you can't connect.There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

Thanks, but it's OK if I write the IP Adress of the new Server ?
If think because the new Server is not inscribed in the Domaine Active Directory.

Yes, the IP should also work. Not being in Directory Services won't prevent you from using the name. That's a function of DNS. As long as DNS has an entry. However not being in the domain may create other potential issues if you intend to use Windows Authentication.There are no bugs - only undocumented features.0

The SQL server is not listed if the SQL Browser service is not running on it. But as already written, you can still use name or IP of the server to connect to it manually.0
