Check InitItemLedgEntry function in Codeunit 220
-
Hi,
This happens in codeunits 80 and 22. This is pretty easy to find, did you try to find it?
Thanks,

Yes on the codeunit 22.
Infact, I want to populate a customised field in the Item Ledger Entry table on Posting a Sales Order, i.e only doing Ship.
The field is flowing fine on the Sales Shipment Header as I am using it on the Sales Line part.
Please help where I can add this code?
Thanks

Cant you try by adding the code in above function?0 -
But I have added the code in the function you mentioned.
The field is not getting updated in Item Ledger Entry table.
Thanks

Did you assign field to ItemJnlLine in PostItemJnlLine function Codeunit 80?0
-
Hi.
But why do I have to use ItemJnlLine too?
Coz I want to update a field in Item Ledger Entry as that field is already flowing in the Sales Shipment Line.
Thanks to clarify me. Am a bit confused on it.

It needs to go to the journal first before it goes to the ledger. This is how any accounting system can guarantee the integrity of the transactions.
You should probably get a senior person to help you with this. The forum is not a place to teach you how to program or how an accounting system is suppose to work.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Document -> Journal -> Ledger. The system needs to follow this flow.Microsoft Certified IT Professional for Microsoft Dynamics NAV

Ok.
Thanks a lot for your help.
The functional consultant did not explain me the concepts of how the data finally got into the Item Ledger Entry.
