No report after Post and Print

Hi,
One of our clients is currently running NAV2009R2 NA Classic Client and they are having issue when processing "Post and Print".
The symptom of this issue is that when they process "Post and Print" from any window in NAV, the transaction gets posted but no Report gets printed. And the funny part is that this only happens to only certain users, not all.
And to make things confusing, is that all users can print out report manually. So the issue lies in the Post and Print code.
Has anyone ever experience this before? If so, how did you manage to solve this problem?
Also, what is the difference between printing out reports from "Post and Print" and regular print job in NAV?
Please let me know.
Thank you.

Check what printer is the default in Windows on the users PC's. If it is eg. a PDF-printer, the report might be printed to PDF without the user noticing. No support using PM or e-mail - Please use this forum. BC TechDays 2024: 13 & 14 June 2024, Antwerp (Belgium)0

Hi Luc,
The user's default printer is set as the actual printer, instead of the PDF printer.
And I don't know if this helps, but the user is currently accessing NAV from Citrix.
And since I found a knowledgebase in MS that there was a bug in compatibility for Citrix and NAV, I've applied the latest hotfix to the customer's environment, but that didn't resolve anything...

This has been a problem since version 1.x.
Run the report and clear out all of the filters for that workstation. Or delete the zup file.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Hi Alex,
How can I clear out the filters?
And you mentioned to do this for the workstation, but since the user is using a Citrix, I can just make this change to the single client located on the Server, correct?
Sorry if I'm asking a repetitive question, but I was unable to find any post related to the ones I was having, so I'd greatly appreciate your advice.

Just to add an additional information, this issue happens to some of the users where the other set of users do not encounter this Post & Print issue.
Thank you.0 -
Yes. It's a individual user setting issue.
Just delete the zup file for each user profile. The post + print will work fine.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

So where do I look for this ZUP file in Citrix environment?
And what will be affected after deleting this file? Only default filters?

If you delete the zup file, it will clear all the filters of the client.
If you don't want to do that, just log in as that user, run the report, and clear out the filters.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Hi Alex,
I just checked this with one of the user and I cleared the filters, but the issue is still happening... So does this mean that this is not related to the filtering issue?
Is it more of an issue with printer driver?

But other users that login can print okay, correct?Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Yes, that is correct.
Some users can print whereas some users cannot, even when filter is removed.0 -

Have you tried deleting the zup file?Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Actually since I didn't want to the user to lose the additional columns that he/she added I haven't deleted the zup file yet.0

Why don't you try that out first then report back?
Or you can re-compile all of the reports.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Actually I am really surprised, I haven't check, but some how I sort of thought this bug was fixed many years ago.
Kudos to Alex for remembering it.David Singleton0 -

Yeah, I spoke to Microsoft about this but they're not going to address it because not enough people were complaining about it and RTC was coming out.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog
