RTC Send to Excel Time field not working in any version

How to format time field to export from RTC Report Preview to Excel?

Check report 99000780 Capacity Task List, Preview and send to Excel. Time field shows as, for example, -6234232.23232, and will not format as a recognizable time.

This does not work in 2009 SP1, 2009 R2 nor in 2013 Beta. Not with Excel 2007 and not with Excel 2010.

what if you do a FORMAT on the time field? (also remember to set the format property of the textbox to "text" instead of 'T').
sorry but i don't have a database ready to test it by myself

I've just checked and noticed the same problem. I think it seems as a bug. You should check if there is any fix for that.
As a temporary solution you may format time fields in these reports, this way it works properly.

Certainly we can format time as text, but the base report should work.
How could there be a fix? NAV 2013 was just released 2 weeks ago.

I have just tried out the scenario on the latest bits and it seems to repro. We will investigate the issue.

I tried out FORMAT("Starting Time") and it worked.
    Below is the screen shot.

The point is not that we can fix it with simple text formatting, it's that it's a bug.

That's right, there are many bugs which MS has fixed & as RTC is something new,the bugs which come around has to be reported to MS, but for the time being you need to fix the issue and atleast start your work.

This is unfortunately a problem in the reports included in NAV 2013 as well. The export of the reports rely on the built in solution from SSRS. Unfortunately there is a bug in the SSRS infrastructure - even the date, which in the RDLC code is correctly formated as "d", is not exported as date.

The identified workaround is good- as soon as you convert the data field to string, it is obviously rendered correctly as a string. A little nuisance is, that the field in Excel is formatted as text, not as time. However at least it looks correct.

We can't change this for NAV 2013, but will definately consider it for the next version.
