How to maintain Department and Headcount monthwise?

Hi Pals,

Can anyone give me suggestion for the below mentioned?

In our concern there are different departments, say 20 departments totally. There can be addition of new departments in future. In each department there will be 'n' no. of headcounts which may differ from month to month. For example:DEPT1, DEPT2, DEPT3, DEPT4 are departments; M1, M2, M3, M4 are Jan 2012, Feb 2012, Mar 2012, Apr 2012 respectively.

DEPT. - M1 - M2 - M3 - M4

DEPT1 - 11 - 12 - 14 - 16
DEPT2 - 10 - 11 - 13 - 17
DEPT3 - 04 - 05 - 06 - 09
DEPT4 - 00 - 02 - 10 - 17

I need to store the monthwise headcounts in a table and I will add the headcounts newly every month. Also, the department will be added. How can I achieve this?

I have not tried anything. Just before starting I need some suggestion for how to approach.

You can try by using Date table to get the month filters and put the filters on particular table where you want count
