purchase invoice payment method, entries not being applied

Hello,

We have recently upgraded from Navision 2.6 to 4.0. We are experiencing a problem when we create a purchase invoice and select a payment method such as visa. The proper entries get created, however they remain 'open' and do not get properly applied. Does anyone have any suggestions what might be causing this?

    When you pay a vendor, you must post the payment in a payment journal. Before you post it, you must decide whether to apply the payment to one or more open credit entries.

    A payment method of "Credit Card" will not close the Invoice entry

    If the payment method ( Table 289) has a "Bal. Account No." filled in then the vendor entries are closed directly while the invoice is posted ( an additional payment entry is created automatically). Otherwise a payment journal needs to be used to post the payment.
