I have a doubt. Please Explain

In purchase order, when we go to purchase lines, there are 3 columns: Planned Receipt Date (P.R.D), Requested Receipt Date (R.R.D) and Order Date (O.D).

According to HELP F1
P.R.D = O.D + L.T.C WHERE L.T.C= LEAD TIME CALC.
O.D = R.R.D – L.T.C

From above two equations we can deduce that P.R.D=R.R.D

THEN WHAT IS THE NEED OF TWO SEPARATE DATES WHEN BOTH ARE SAME ACCORDING TO LOGIC.

    Not all functions in an ERP system must have mathematical or systematical meaning. The emphasis is business intelligence and data querying. The NAV online help is sometimes written in general if you have access take a look at the code behind those fields and you'll see what I mean.
