is it in your local?
you restore from another database to your local database?0 -
is your user known on the SQL server?0

Has your senior added you to the users that can login?
When you open the database, is it RTC or Classic?
If Classic: have you confirmed that your login is same/different from your Windows login? This determines your authentication method. (windows/SQL).0
