Query Notification

Hi
After installing NAV 2009 R2 3 tiers on 3 machines I got this message in the event log of the service tier machine:
"...Query Notifications are unavailable on SQL Server "xxx" in Database "xxx". The Object Change Listener has switched to polling".
If my unsterdanding ist correct, the service tier has 2 possiblities to check for changed db objects: 1. by query notifications und 2. by Object change listener (OCL) that queries against the table "Object Tracking".
Is this correct? If yes, is there a need for query notification at all? Thanks in advance

The query notification is better way than pooling. You know, pooling means new query each time and some delay. Query notification doesn't create query to the server...0

Thanks kine! Any other comments? Btw, Query notification is not part of the walkthrough "Installing the three tiers on three computers"...

Thanks for all the contributions. I have also found this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library ... 9(v=nav.60).aspx
Have a look on the 2nd part of the page. Query notification is noted there and also identified as an optional step.
