Budget Entry VS G/L Entry

Hi,

Do you know a way in Dynamics Nav to make links between a general journal line with G/L account type and a budget entry created with the same general account so that when we post the journal line, the resulting G/L entry will be related to a specific budget entry.

Are you saying you want to prevent a transaction to occur if they don't specify a specific G/L Budget Entry?

No, the goal is to have the possibility to filter the balance account by a specific budget name. To achieve it, I have to link (if possible) the general journal transaction with an existing budget entry.

The link to the budgets is done through Account Schedules.

If you want to allow the users to post only into accounts with budgets associated, you'll need to create a screen so only G/L accounts with budgets are displayed. This is also assuming the users selects G/L account on the lines.
