My client is using NAV 2009 RTC. When creating a sales invoice, he would like to search the customer using the vat no. Now when clicking on the customer field and the lookup is shown there are five rows which are displayed and which the user can filter with. How could i add the Vat Registration No. to these fields?

Hi,
1st go to customer table & start it in designer mode.
2nd go to view menu ->click on fieldgroup.
You will find a single line with,
ID. 1
Name. DropDown
Group .No.,Name,City,Post Code,Phone No.,Contact.
On the Group column you wil find assist button, click on that & fields from customer will be shown.
Select the require field(VAT Registration) and click OK.
now your Group will be some thing like (No.,Name,City,Post Code,Phone No.,Contact,VAT Registration No.) insted of (No.,Name,City,Post Code,Phone No.,Contact).
Compile & Save the changes & restart you RTC, you can find the VAT Reg column now.Regards,
