Factors which effect Upgrade Estimates ?

Hi All,

What are the factors that normally cause upgrade estimates to go beyond what has been projected ? What issues do you encounter when you perform upgrades from any A version to any B version ? For example some of these might be Number of fields and keys remaining in important tables like Sales Line, Purchase Line; Number of Add Ons etc

    Most of the time upgrades go over budget because of incompetence.

    Isen't it because of incompetence that an upgrade estimate is too optimistic and thus because of the experience gained while upgrading the incompetent realise that they were to optimistic. :p
