Zup file

We are using printer setup to print customer invoices to different printers based on customer settings. Once in a while, if the ZUP file is currupted then the invoices are printing to local printer. Only way to correct this problem is to rename or delete the existing zup file. Is there a way to avoid this problem? How can we ensure the ZUP is always correct?
