Hi
I have a problem with lock on G/L Entry table.Multiple users are posting transactions like Sales Invoice,Production Journal etc...And the users are getting the message that G/L entry table is locked. Therefore its blocking their process.
Could anyone please help out what would be the root causes for this and the solution for the same.
Environment : Nav 2009 with SQL Server db size: 20 Gb,db used size: 7GB

Because of how NAV is implemented, only 1 user at a time can post.
This way was needed for the native DB that only had tablelocks. For the moment there is no solution to it.
We can only hope that, when the native DB is dismissed, Microsoft redesigns the posting codeunits.

Main reason is that the posting took too long and the timeout is short. Check for performance problem on the server (disks, memory, indexes, fragmentation etc.)0

Hi Kamil,
Could you please provide more details what all parameters I need to check and how to check?0 -
Study the performance posts on this forum, study documentation, it is not something you will learn by one post...0
