Close Sales Order - Drop Shipment

Hi All!!!

User has raised one Sales Order with one Item having 30 Quantity. Using Drop shipment user has created PO for the same Item, same SO with 30 Quantity. Now user has made purchase receipt against that PO for 28 Quantity. Automatic shipment has been done for 28 quantity.

Now Customer doesnt want remaining 2 quantity. User wants to close this SO as well as PO. What should be the solution?

System doesnt allowing to change the quantity in SO. So the outstanding quantities are showing for Planning which they dont want.

    Most people add a new line for the same item but for negative -2 and then post the documents with a balanced transaction
