Dataport to ignore empty lines

I have a client who wants me to change a dataport so it ignores empty lines.

I tried setting the DataItemSeparator to '<None>' but then it just goes into an endless loop.

If I set the the DataItemSeparator to something that will never occur (i.e. '1hdf345') the dataport will actually read past the empty line but instead of skipping it repeats the import of the previous line.

The third option was to write a function that copies the file leaving out the empty lines and then importing the copied file. This works fine until you have a line longer than 250 chars.

Anybody have any ideas?
