Hi

I am doing an upgrade from Version 3.60 to 4.00.
what are the extra steps that I need to perform if its a Sql Database.
The document for upgrade just says to covert the sql database using the navision 4.0 client . what does that mean.

Thanks in Advance
Bobby

Make a Backup on your standart DB and create a new DB in SQL option then restore the backup you just had created.

It does mean, that you connect with the new NA 4.0 client to the old DB and you confirm, that you want to convert the DB to new version (the big dialog that is talking about the DB is for older version than your client). It is all. It will change only some property in the DB...

watch out for date's when you migrate from native to SQL.

In the Native you can use dates ranging from year 0 to year 9999.
For SQL this not the case. There are special fobs on the product CD
    that address this issue.

Also take into account that the codepage from an SQL db doesn't always
match your Native DB codepage, look for special characters. This can be
solved by creating special upgrade code which must be runned prior to the backup of your Native DB.

There is nothing about migrating... it is only about "Technical" (C/SIDE) upgrade from 3.60 to 4.00. I suppose that 3.60 DB was on MS SQL too... 8)
