Hi,
we use a very fast machine for our developer system (NF 2.51) on
Windows NT 4.0 (SP6). We use a 32gb database (our database usage is currently 72% of 32gb). I have a small (?) problem: If i
do the following stepts:
1. Format partition where to create new db
2. Create db (32 gb)
3. Resore Backup from mainsystem
Step 1. take 2 seconde. Step 2 take between 20 and 45 minutes.
Step 3 takes (and this is the problem for me) between 3.5
and 6.5 hours. I don't change anything but get this strange
times for Step 3 (i make this test 10 times).
I don't understand why the time for each run is exact the same. ( also use every time the same backup.
The partition where i put the db is 40 gb of size. Only the
db is on this partition (also no pagefile . I don't install anything between the runs and also don't start another program. After each import i restart the machine.
Also i only create the db local )so that there noone can connect
to the server...it is'nt running .
Can someone explain why this happens ?
Thanks.
Kai.
