Restore company version 4.0 to 5.1 database

Hi there :)

I have these companies saved on Navision 4.0 database (local) I use for training purposes and now we have upgraded to 5.1 I want to convert them to version 5.1.

I know (or at least think I know..) this is not the same as upgrading SQL databases like we did with the upgrade.

Please advise how to do it. Thanks in advance!

    No you are wrong. It IS the same as upgrading. Just run the upgrade tools on the companies.

    Thanks David for clarifying this.

    What if I have a 5.1 database and want to restore these companies? Should I first restore on 4.0 local, convert and then backup/restore on 5.1?

    Just to clarify that for 5.1 upgrade we restored the databases on Navision 5.1 and run the processes. However, if I do the same with local then this means I will have to launch database 4.0 with Navision 4.0, run the upgrade procedure, finish, and then re-open with 5.1...?

    Its a normal upgrade like any other.
