Here is the situation. We are upgrading Navision from 3.6 to 2009 classic client. We have completed the object conversion and successfully tested the data conversion as well. Considering the fact that we are upgrading to the classic client, is there any compelling reason at this point to upgrade to 2009 SP1?
I know 2009 is fairly new and SP1 has just gotten out so I would like to hear from experience if some one had to decide something like this and went one way or another.
Thanks

On SP1 there are also some bugfixes.
If you / your customer want's to go in future to RTc client, u should definitly use the SP1.

No, if you're using classic client, you don't really need SP1.
BUT! You might want to upgrade to 2009 SP1 anyways since some add-on companies decided to skip NAV2009 objects completely and go directly to 2009SP1. Lanham, the maker of eShip and EDI, did not release their product for NAV2009, only NAV2009SP1.
So if you're in the middle of upgrading to NAV2009, it shouldn't add that much time to upgrade to NAV2009SP1 instead.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

I heard SP1 changes are mostly related with RTC and since we are going with classic client we will be ok by not upgrading to SP1. But at the same time I wanted to make sure that we are not missing anything else by not having SP1 other than the add-on issue that Alex pointed out, that was a good point.
Thanks for your comments.0 -
There are so many object changes in SP1 that I feel it would be a major mistake to not use those objects. I am sure you will regret it very soon after you go live, find a bug in NAV and then find out that to fix the error you need to upgrade to SP1.David Singleton0
