AutoCompletion Error

Our client used to have this functionality when they used to fill in two characters of Item name and the Item number was coming automatically but now it does not happen. Though when they type in full name then Item No. comes in automatically.

Why this might be happening ?

    As far as I know that would have been a customization.

    It could be a customization, i.e. someone modified the search field parameter in table 27.

    But the more likely reason is that someone over wrote the SEARCH DESCRIPTION field in that item card. I would check that first.
