The first user who is logon to NF wait a ling tine. I read that the problem can be a too big cache size. The size is 158208 KB on a NT4 TSE derver with 256 MB intern memory. How can I reduce the cache size by starting NF permanent to a lowet cache and what is best one you advise

The cache should correspond to the number of users, database volume and other applications on the server.
The first user who log on will force the server to fill up the cache (and the last user who log off will force the server to flush the cache to disk).
I think You should give NT more then 100Mb (at least if You have a transaction intensive system)
To get a more precise advise one must know the number of users, database size and if there are other applications on the server.

How to change the cache size from the nf-server?
Go to dos-prompt and change into the programm directory where navision is installed.
e.g. c:\programms\navision financials server\
type: "server"
Now you can see all the parameters of the nf-server
To change the cache size type:
"server cache=100000" this will be a 100 MB Server cache.
For every user it is a 5 MB cache recommended.
bye
