EMU field

Would any one like to tell me what is EMU currency field in The General Ledger Setup Table.

    It allows you to do cross currency application in EU. You can google in EMU.

    EMU = European Monetary Union, the organisation that implemented the EURO. At some point each participating currency was fixed in relation to the EURO when it was not an official currency yet. I believe the EMU Currency field was meant to reconcile participating currencies against eachother, but I'm not sure exactly about the details.
