hi i do it like this

suppose i am in ABC domain and my user id is FOX
then in write like this in navision
    ABC/FOX
    and it takes
if it does not find it then it says unknown user or if you are not on server and try to browse by F6 then it gives the ERROR of

    Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision
The system failed to retrieve the global catalog from Active Directory.
This may be caused by network problems, or it may be caused by a lack of Active Directory functionality on your machine or the network.

Active Directory functionality is not available.
Contact your system manager or your vendor for support.

    OK

i think you should directly write the name
    like domainname/username

try it , i think it will work.

I had that same problem and here's how i fixed it:
First I published the Navision Server in AD (run the schemaxt.exe in the Database Server folder).
After that I still had problems creating a Windows user (It said Unknown Windows Account) but after putting Win 2000 Servers AD in Native mode it worked!

Hope that will get you some ideas...

Navision works with sql server , i don't make the first answer with navision database.
For the second answer, login's user windows is opened but when i click on the combo an error message appears "don't find global active directory".
How can I do to put active directory in native mode

    thanks

    regards
