Open fileshare when using Record Links

Hi!

One of our customers is using Record links on their Vendors. They are keeping all their documents on a fileshare. The problem is that every time they open the record links the user have to search for the fileshare. The path to the fileshare is not saved to next time the user open the records links form.

If the user is using a local adress the problem doesn´t occur. To me it seem to be a problem using fileshares on Record links.

Have anyone experienced this problem?

    Have you tried mapping the file share locations to the users PC ?

    There is no problem to add a record link to a file share, like this: \\server\Documents\worddocument.docx

    The problem is that the next time the user want to create a record link the path \\server\Documents\ is not saved.

    Then you should map the path to a drive as jannestig suggested. If the user can't remember a drive letter then you have bigger issues :D
