Installation error

hi!!
I am trying installing NAV 2009 in XP system. But not even the Frame work 3.5 is getting installed soon after running the install option, its throwing the error cant install 3.5 frame work...

kindly help where im going wrong?

    Are you an administrator?

    Try to install .NET Frame work 3.5 from windows update.

    Hi have installed 3.5 frame work.
    now gotta problem in installing NAV 2009.

    In my system there is SQL 2005 (SQL Server Management Studio Express) already with 2 instances. but when starting with installing the NAV, First its said that its goona install SCL Express edition with some extraction of file and after that its displaying hte error

    "Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 Build 27808
    The component was rolled back
    Microsoft SQL Server Express 2005
    Package failed to install
    "
    and the NAV is not installed

    Plzz kindly help me to get rid of the error and to install the software!!!

    NAV 2009 installer can only use the default instance name that is MSSQLSERVER. By default SQL 2005 express is insalled with instance name SQLEXPRESS.

    You can try to create the MSSQLSERVER instance manually.

    In NAV 2009 SP1 this will not be any problem anymore since you can specify the instance name in the installer.
