Multiple dimension on G/L Account

hi guys,

am using NAV 5. I would like to create multiple dimension on gl accounts.

e.g on a/c 604000, i want to put,

Dimension 1 - CENTER , Dim Value - XXXX
Dimension 1 - CENTER , Dim Value - YYYY

is this possible??

    no, u can only use one Dimension Value Code for a Dimension Code.
    Primary key is:
    Table ID,No.,Dimension Code
    15,G/L Account No,Dimension 1

    So why do you need this? Is this G/L Account ever used for both Centers?
    If yes, why not use a Dimensnion Value Code like: CEnterXXXCenterYYY ?
    Do you make it right, it works too!

    i wanted to use this to enable a user to choose from either Center XXX or Center YYY, if he is on any journal for that particular gl account.

    so what is the basis Multiple dimensions on the G/L Account card?

    why don't you try to use the value posting = code mandatory and leave the dimension value blank, so that the user have to choose the value before it can post into that g/l account?

    i was thinking that by using the multiple dimensions, i wud write some codes to enable the user to choose only those dimensions that he has put on the multiple dimensions of that particular gl account
