Dear All,
I am using analysis by dimensions for my inventory reporting, and using a Montly compression format.
The analysis is updated daily.
The case is:
One item was having transactions till 28th July.
On 31st July, when the analysis view was updated, the inventory was correct.
On 2nd, 3rd and 4th august, some transactions were posted for 31st July in the system.
The analysis was also updated daily.
But today, I found out difference in inventory for the item. When I checked, the ANalysis view was not updated for the entries of July which were posted in august.
The entries of august are properly compressed and updated.
Now, I am stucked as to-
1. how it happened?
2. How to update the view, as the problem is that the database is having more than 20 lacs entries, which will take more that 5 hours to get updated again if if start afresh.
Your help is appreciated.

I don't think there is anyway around it. I have been using the analysis by dimensions for a month or so, trying to learn all I can, and once the month is done and the analysis is compressed, it won't go back and add new entries to it. the only way to get your July entries to be included and compressed in July now, would be to have the analysis view entries deleted and updated again. I have had to do this several times as I have experimented with the system. go back to the analysis view card and change a parameter, it will warn you that it needs to delete the existing entries. Other then the 5 hours to update it again, you won't loose anything.
I was using the automatic update nightly in the job scheduler, but I turn it off at month end for a few day to allow for the few stray entries to be posted and then run the update after I am sure the months activity is done.0 -
