Barcode Scanning Integration with Navision

Dear All,

Can any one explain me about Barcode scanning Integration with Navision - How its works?
I have gone thru many documents and forums. But, I didn't get clear ideas....
I aware of Bar code scanner will generate the file with data’s. We can import the data’s into application backend.
Now, the requirement is like User can read the Barcode label from Card when open the screen. The record should be filled with data’s in to screen by automatically. and then we need to write the code in validate events. That is fine.
1. How scanner will hit our application first field?
2. How can we fetch the record from scanner before firing the validate event at that time of scanning the label?
Please send me the document if you have any.
Is Microsoft having any separate application for Barcode scanning with Navision 4.0 or later version?

There must be 500 barcode post in the forum alone.

If you're referring to a handheld scanner then..it works like a keyboard. it's an input device.

If you place the cursor in the field you want. press the scanner button and scan a barcode.
The barcode's info will be placed in that field.
