Bank Account- Reconciliation - Partial clearance

Dear All,
If suppose bank has cleared 2500 out of 3000 in the statement. The difference is coming as 500. how can i post this?

You leave the $500 as unreconciled.

if the item was for 3000 (single entry) and some how, only 2500 was cleared, there is a column in the bank rec line, called "Cleared Amount" you would enter the 2500 there and check the box cleared, it will leave a remaining amount

Doing so, the remaining $500 will not come up on the next bank rec.
