MS Dynamics NAV blogs from functional perspective

I constantly see blogs on GP and other products from functional side of the production.
For NAV I only see the technical people blogging.
For example
Here is a GP blog
https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/gp ... -week.aspx
but there are non from MS for NAV.
I would like to hear changes that are coming in table structure, service pack.
This will help a lot of solution centers and consultants to keep up to date with changes that are coming and learn daily. This will also allow people to respond to the blog with suggestion and opinions.
Why is this missing from NAV?
For NAV I only see the technical people blogging.

Most of his and other blogs out there are all technical and don't talk about business logic.0 -

changes to table structure in a service pack can be also explained from business point of view.
For example in 2009, when you drill down in Unit cost field the lookup is show in reverse order than in 5.0 sp1. A blog about why this was changed would be helpful.
Another example, the Avg. Cost Adjmt. Entry Point in 5.0 is no longer deleted after adjust cost is run.
They could explain that it's used to populate the lookup table when you drill down on unit cost on item card.
I like to hear the reasons and WHY changes are done to NAV.0 -

Hey I saw your blog on loading opening balances for banks. Nice post.
Please have more coming. I think you should post a blog on open AR and AP as well.

May be that NAV is so wide for usage, that it is hard to blog about the functional aspect. Because each company can use same functionality in different way. You can blog about some narrow area within some specific context, but hardly about some generic functionality, or only on some theoretical level... :-k0
-
To give you a simple example, they could talk about one report at a time and explain why it was built and who would use it. I know some reports are trivial, but it's a simple example of what they can blog.
Another examples would be all the roles that MS has created, if they simple explain why they built them and explain what that person would do during the day, it will be helpful.
They can talk about future functionality that will be implemented.
They can take some of the big tables and explain what all the fields mean and how the data into the field.
For example the value entry.
They could talk about scenarios on how to make a mod in certain area based on some requirements.0 -
Half of your examples are technical questions... ;-)
About the roles - they are based on the Customer Model which could be downloaded from partnersource (I do not know if it is fully released, but I know that there are day schedules of the people, their roles in the company etc.).
But yes, there is space for blogging about NAV from different angles...0 -

These points were explained if you attended the product release roadshow. With version 5.0, they explained a lot about the changes that were made and why they were made. NAV2009 roadshow were mainly technical, so not much to write home about.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Thanks!
A blog about loading beginning A/R and A/P seems very... basic??? If anything, it'll help out the people that shouldn't be implementing NAV in the first place rather than more experienced NAV professionals.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Yes but any discussion not only helps implementors, but also customers.
Not every consultant is familiar in all the areas and any functional blog will improve everybody's knowledge.0 -

These are technical blogs.Software is like sex. It's better when it's free!
Also I hope you are not saying this based on experience.0 -
Try this, I do not think it is that technical, because I am not!

There are blogs on how to do things, considerations on multi-site implementations etc.
However I do not believe you will find what you are looking for. To give the feedback and direction you require would take MS to do it - I cannot tell you why a field has changed or why any change to NAV has been made, I can only guess or try to find out from MS if I disagree with it, if I agree it is a change for the better so onwards and upwards. The art of teaching is clarity and the art of learning is to listen0 -
Here is another good functional blog that mainly talks about MRP, but there are other subjects as well.

You are welcome. One concerning fact about the blog is that the last blog has been in February.
Hopefully he is posting new blogs.0
