NAV 2009 SQL 2000

This may sound a daft question, but most of the information I can find on SQL installations is the Microsoft recommended installations, can NAV 2009 be run on SQL 2000 in any circumstance or is it a complete no-no

The NAV 2009 installation I am talking about would be just the Classic Client.

If it is not possible, would someone be able to let me know if it is easy or not to upgrade the SQL 2000 version to 2005 (assuming there is access already to the upgrade), as I'll admit my knowledge on SQL is not as good as I'd like it to be.

Many Thanks for any help.

It does not run on SQL 2000 at all. I don't think it's difficult to upgrade to 2005, especially if you're just running the one database and there's nothing else connecting it. Just backup and restore on to a 2005 box.

If you're implementing NAV 2009, and oyu need to upgrade your SQL Server, then why not upgrade that to SQL Server 2008? 2005 is already an outdated version.
