Some functions in NAV have optional parameters (ex. setfilter(Field,String [, Value],...))
Now I'm wondering, how can one create his own functions with optional parameters?

Do you mean you want to have the ability to specify different number of parameters for the same function?

you can't! but you can pass '' (blank) as parameter and manage it, or use arrays...i know, it's not the same, but this is what we have
