Job Table slow to open

Hi:

I have a "Job" table (Table 167) with about 95000 records in it. The database is 3.60 running under the 5.0SP1 client on SQL 2005.

When I try to browse the Job table, it opens very slowly - it takes 10 minutes or so in Object Designer to get the table to the point I can browse it. Using a form that is editable takes even longer.

However, if I create a form that is NON-editable (e.g. form 89 "Jobs List") and run THAT form, the table displays and browses right away.

Has anyone seen this behavior? Any ideas?

The flowfields are probably the bottleneck. My guess is that your form does not have all the flowfields from the job table.

That's possible for a form, but I get the same slow performance when I open the table in Object Designer - which does have all the fields including flowfields.

Yeah, running the table will be slower because by default, it shows all the flowfields.
