Setting a default printer making printing faster

Hello,

I am trying to understand why this is happening:

I created some reports in Navision that should print as labels. These reports should print on a Zebra printer.

Normally, the user who are printing these labels are also printing other regular reports so they have multiple printers in Windows. The Zebra printer is not the default one. So when they print the labels, the windows printer selection window appears and then they change the default printer to select the Zebra.

I realised that doing, the printing is very slow.

Instead if the Zebra printer is the default Windows printer, the printing is very fast.

Anyonw has an idea why is that?
