Name of vendor not showing in report

In one report, for one of the body's section i placed textbox with sourceexpr as vendor.Name, i declared vendor in global variables with data type " record" and subtype as vendor, but i could not be able to see or print the name of the vendor as i run or printpreview the report and i can see the list of vendor numbers etc when print previwing the report.

Pls assist me.

    In the OnAfterGetRecord-section where you want to printer the name, you have to do a Vendor.GET(...) with the vendor-code whose name you want.

    you must get also the Vendor record.
    For example you has the "Vendor no." self in you table. For example in the Purchase Header the field "Pay-to Vendor No.".
    So, in the OnAfterGetRecord() Trigger of your Dataitem where you need the Vendor record you get it with the command:
    MyVendorVariable.get(PrimaryKeyValue); //for example on Purchase Header: MyVendorVariable.get("Pay-to Vendor No.");
