I want to connect with SQL server from navision 3.60(still have a demo version). What I need to have to do that??? Navision Attain Database server??? Or just sql server and navision client?I need to copy or something like that all of the tables from navision database to sql server, but I dont know how

Hi,
All you need is a a valid SQL Server or MSDE and execute the finsql.exe from the installation filder (SQL Server Option in the start menu).
-Make a backup of your native database
-open finsql.exe
-choose file->database->create
-choose the SQL-Server name, press OK
-enter the name of the database
-click ok to create the new database
-restore the backup you have made earlier
And there you have your native db into SQL Server.
There is a lot of info in the Docs directory of the installation CD about the SQL Server option of Navision.0 -
Thnx,
I already do thatI've found procedure in "Installation & System Management: Microsoft SQL Server Option", but I need an empty db(should stay only required data)

If you want to copy data from a copmany to another (in the same db) you should use the Company Copy, by Emiel Romein from the Mibuso Downloads. I have used it and it had saved me alot of times.
Great tool...0 -
I believe that's a great tool, but I'm working on 3.60
...Please read my last post(before this one).....I need a solution for that.
Thanks.misha fka voodoo0 -
Hi,
You could use the Setup Checklist under the General Ledger Setup, which copies data from company to company in the same database.
So, to create a new company with data from another, then restore your native database into SQL, create the new company, and copy data from the company you want.
Then delete all the other companies and you have a new database with a company with data you have copied from some other company.
Does this covers you?
If not, the level of alcohol in my blood is a bit low??
Give my half an hour, I have a bottle of Ursus beside me!0 -
Maybe, I don't know yet
All I know is that I need an empty db (but with roles and other stuff).....I don't need Customers etc.
