Non Standard Production process

gvcgvc Member Posts: 6
Hi everybody.

I'm trying to make an aplication that supports the production process,
in a way that Navision standard does not support.
The main idea is to add two new tables which will interact with the
standard production tables (5405 & 5406).
My problem is to know which structure should I follow (tables,
forms,codeunits,etc..), in order to transfer records between tables.
Changing Navision standard tables and forms doesn't seem to be
a good idea.....

Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks.

... What do you mean exactly by "Non Standard" ? Could you be more explicit, please ?

Meaby a solution exists with just some custo on STD code, in place of reicreating the wheel...

I would like to keep information that is unforeseen in Navision
    production table fields.
Would be a good idea adding fields to 5405 & 5406 tables?
Will I have problems when updating Navision?
Maybe this question has been answered somewhere in this forum,
    but I couldn't find it yet. :(

There is no problem with changing this tables. But you have to reconstruct the changes if you update navision.

If you can get the functionality you need with some changes in this tables you should prefer this possibility. According to experience you will have less trouble.

    Thank you for your time.
I have lost much of my time hanging around this problem.

Well, maybe you should explain your "special production" story. Someone might have been through and solved just the other way around.
