But I just realized that if the black dot appears then you made a post in that topic.

    Yes Harry,
    if the black dot is in the blue circle, then you've wrote some lines there (for example a new post or an answer).
    This feature was released with the last update of these forum.
    You only see the dot for all your "posts" that you have create after the update.
