In Fixed assests

FIXED ASSETS
→ SETUP → FA SETUP: there is field Allow Posting to Main Asset .

I gone through the help , but i could not understand .
so could u explain the detail meaning of these below sentence.

If you have split up your assets into main assets and components, and you want to keep track of the components, you can post directly to a main asset. However, you may only want to post information through the components. A checkmark in the
Allow Posting to Main Asset allows you to post to a main asset.

Because i done one transaction like this.

i created a New fixed assest card like Car main assest.
and created one more card that is component like wheel.
I done setups for fixed assest card. I placed a check mark in Allow Posting to Main Asset.

I purchased the componenet wheel with cost - 10000/-.
i post the transaction, But only wheel assest(component got amount in the field BOOk value ), but car(main assest didnot get any amount. in the field BOOK Value).


So please help me what type of transactions i need to post.

Please explain one transaction about this to understand easily.
