Hi there!
Can anyone tell me the best way to undo a shipment in Navision?
If I go to the sales posted shipment and run the funcion undo shipment it return this error:
Microsoft Business Solutions-Navision
You cannot undo line 70000 because warehouse put-away lines have already been created.
OK
So my question is, if i'm not allowed to delete any records from posted documents how can i undo a shipment.
I thought about creating a new function to delete all the related records before runing the "undo shipment" function, but the problem is that I would delete historical records, and that's not a good procedure.
Can anyone help me??
Thanks

There is always a possibility of posting invoice, and then creating a credit memo to reverse transaction.Tomas,

Or better yet, you might try:
1. Go to Warehouse -> History -> Posted Documents -> Posted Shipments. Find your shipment and click F4 to delete it.
2. Go to Warehouse -> History -> Registered Documents -> Registered Picks. Find your registered pick and click F4 to delete it.
3. Go to Warehouse -> History -> Posted Documents -> Posted Sales Shipments and click Function->Undo Shipment.
Now you should be able to undo shipment.Tomas,

I know I can do it that way... But I was wondering if there was another way to do it without deleting historical movements.
If this is the only way. I'm going to create a function to do it.

Nope... Unless you do modification to bypass the checking on historical movements...Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

And create negative qty records in the historical movements.
As well as make whse adjustment entries and move them to the original bins.0 -
Well, the items will just sit in the item ledger and not in the Whse ledger. The warehouse management would need to run the Calculate Whse. Adjustment process on the item journal and put the items into the proper place.
Either way, it'll be messy.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

Standard Nav makes reversing Item ledger entries, You wouldn't comment that code out.0

No, not commenting out the item ledger part. The Warehouse manager will need to adjust the warehouse entry manually after the undo is done.Confessions of a Dynamics NAV Consultant = my blog

If we just go to the Sales order-->Function-->Reopen and Delete the Sales order then we dont need to do above steps as you suggested. It will automatically return back the items to same bin with same serial number even.
