Navision backup in SQL db?

I have a customer with using the Navision SQL server option. We want to be able to do standard Navision backups of the database (especially for testing on the initial implementation). But the standard Navision backup fails on any shared tables with data in them. Does anyone know why this is? Is there a workaround for this? I would be very interested in hearing from anyone has experienced this problem with a SQL database accessed via Navision. Thank in advance

    By experience I can assure you that Navision does a good job on backing up, all Navision tables (shared between companies or not) included.

    Or do you mean "shared" in some other way? If you need to access the tables from different sources, be sure you create the tables and field definitions from within Navision to keep everything in sync. Changes made at SQL server level will not be visible in the Navision editor.

    If the tables are shared with other systems putting data in there, your problem probably is that Navision do not like the format of some data. Maybe wrong date-format is used, or something else not accepted by Navision.
