Error creating a contact

At Avans University in the Netherlands we let students work in a virtual company, using NAV 5.0/SQL.

One of our students is having a problem with creating a new contact (he is account manager in the virtual company. The problem is as follows:
Module sales & marketing, contacts. Then we press F3 for new contact. The contactnumber is normal created automatically when pressing on TAB. Then we receive the following error:
“You cannot assign new numbers from the number series CONT”.
We already configured the user as a SUPER (DATA) user. This didn’t solve the problem.

Can you help us, please?

    Have you checked if there is an Ending No. in the Number Series?

    Yep, the error tells you where to look (although a little cryptic). Check out the number series table and search for CONT. Make sure you haven't run out of numbers and that everything looks setup correctly.

    Also, by going to "Marketing Setup" you'll see which series is the default for contacts. Apart from having the Ending No. filled you'll need to see if the series has reached the ending number. If so, create a new series and add this one in the Marketing Setup table in "Contact Nos".
