business analytics for Non NAV data consolidation

hi all.

is it possible to consolidate another data sources (SQL, ORACLE, access or excel) to business analytics besides NAV?

i'm clueless about business analytics, any info is highly appreciated :D

    Out of the box, No, that's not possible.

    You can only have 1 datasource, usually a NAV db (native or sql).

    But, ofcourse, with a little bit knowledge of Analysis Services and Integration Services you should be able to do it.

    For example, you can let BA create a cube filled with NAV data. Then you create a cube yourself, filled with data coming from "whatever".

    The you could create a virtual cube, combining these other cubes, or just build a reporting solution, for example with Reporting Services, on your cubes.

    Business Analytics is based upon Targit, I'm not a Targit specialist, but I think Targit also might be able to use more then 1 datasource for it's cubes ?
    Debugging is twice as hard as writing code. Therefore if you write the code as cleverly as possible you are by definition not smart enough to debug it.

    Please take a look at the license agreement, you are not allowed to analyse more than NAV as the product business analytics is an OEM of Targit for NAV. If you want to analyze more data sources, you have to upgrade to a complete targit license, which is more expensive. You should contact your local Targit distributor for more info on this one...

    ok, but what about creating cube by my own from sql using only sql tools (ssis, analitics)? Is this also illegal ? As owner of MS SQL licence i'm able to do it.

    Using SSIS is perfectly legal and probably much cheaper then buying Targit, depending on what you want to do and your knowledge of SSIS.
