Hi everybody
I don't know if the application server needs one normal active session.
An example:
If we have a licence of 12 active sessions per max. Is it possible to use the application server also in combination with the 12 active session, or is it necessary to buy a new session ?
Thank for you help

No, application server have own sessions...
if you can look into text file from licence (licence details), you can see for example:Maximum No. of Sessions
Total....................: 72
Any......................: 71
Maximum No. of satellites..: 0
It means - 72 sessions, 71 for users - 1 for application server...0 -

Hi Kine,
where is the file's location?
I usually just check from Database Information - Session.
Current session: ... : %
Licensed Session : ...

It is text file from licence configurator. Ask you NSC if you don't have it. But it is not sure, that they send this file to you. Than ask them for info about application server sessions in your licence...0

The NAS has its own granule number:
"1,415 Application server - each instance"0 -
Yes, and one session you have for free i think...0
-
so... looks like you're stuck with testing it eh

I don't know if the number of NAS instances in your license says anything about the sessions it uses to connect to navision. Only one way to find out. Have your NAS running, and have 12 people log on, see if it still works. If number 12 can't get in, you'll know you need a new license.
I'd be interested to know this.0 -
Hi everybody
Thanks for your help.
I made the session test yesterday and I found out, that the application server has his own session.
An example:
If you have 12 registred user-sessions and the application server also installed, you have 13 registred sessions.
12 for the clients and 1 for the application server.
You don't need to buy a new session. I tryed it and I could connect with 12 users during the application server was working. I also tryed to connect with 13 clients after I stopped the application server, but it was not possible to connect more then 12 clients.
